After wandering through more than 30 countries, engaging in music, design, and filmmaking, NEUNOA began creating art in earnest in 2021. This exhibition explores the phenomenon in modern society where celebrities are mythologized as idols with godlike power, existing in the intersection of glorification and critique, and consumed en masse. NEUNOA’s works are characterized by heavy layers of paint that abstractly obscure facial features, creating a "veil" that amplifies the inner messages conveyed by the subjects.

The exhibition title, "THE LUX KLAN", combines the meanings of luxury (LUX) and alliance (KLAN). “LUX” also stems from the Latin word for “light” and simultaneously hints at “celebrity = luxury.” Rather than merely showcasing celebrities, the exhibition critically examines how they are mythologized and voraciously consumed. Using monochrome, gold, and bold color palettes, NEUNOA's abstract expressions highlight both the glamor and the fragility of celebrity culture. Through these works, the longing for idols, the desire to possess them, and the untold thoughts and feelings hidden in their shadows come to light.

This exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the desires and illusions behind luxury and the often-overlooked voices that lie beneath. It seeks to offer an opportunity to look beyond surface representations and discover deeper, essential values.
